MILFORD BOROUGH COMMON COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING DATE: January 3, 2017 CALL TO ORDER The Regular Meeting of the Milford Borough Common Council was held in the Milford Fire Company Building on January 3, 2017. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ronald A. Rehl at 7:00PM. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Mayor Ronald Rehl. SUNSHINE PROCLAMATION was read by Mayor Ronald Rehl. As required by the Open Public Meetings Act of 1975, adequate notice of this meeting was provided on December 15, 2016 in the Hunterdon County Democrat and Express Times newspapers. Notices were also posted on the bulletin boards both inside and outside the Municipal Building and at the Milford Public Library. ROLL CALL Present: Ronald R. Rehl, Mayor Carole Heller, Noralie LaFevre, Henry Schepens, George Sniffin, Robert White, Elisa Yager The record reflects the presence of: Todd Bolig, Attorney. NEW BUSINESS Replace Water Line for Customer in Holland Township Mayor Rehl stated Rick Aller, Water Superintendent and Todd Bolig, Borough Attorney have been working on a complaint from a water customer in Holland Township regarding lack of water volume. Rick Aller stated over time zinc in the galvanized steel piping erodes and can lead to an accumulation of corrosion on the inside walls of the pipes. Rick Aller informed Council there is need to inspect/replace the steel water service line at 428 Milford-Mt. Pleasant Road. The Borough Water Department will have to excavate the water service line that connects the properties of 428 and 430 Milford-Mt. Pleasant Road and inspect the service line and replace the line from the existing curb stop to the street if necessary. If the water line needs replacing from the existing stop into the home it will be the homeowner’s responsibility. LEGAL AFFAIRS REPORT – TODD BOLIG Attorney Bolig informed Council that the bankruptcy proceedings for the A&L Oil property are moving forward. SAFETY/ADMINISTRATION – MAYOR REHL Mayor Rehl stated he met with Chuck Urban regarding his plans for the Grist Mill on Railroad Avenue.
