Mayor's Message - 2018

Spring Valley Road Update – Jan 5 th – Evening

As of this afternoon, Spring Valley Road remains passable for local traffic, However today's rain will most likely add to the overflow and cover more of the road surface over the next couple of days. In addition, the temperature is expected to drop to the low 20's tomorrow night which will certainly result in extremely dangerous driving conditions on the already slick road surface. Warren County will continue to be responsible for maintaining the road and will be taking appropriate measures (salting and sanding). But please exercise caution as there will certainly be icy sections and black ice in spots where vehicles have gone through puddles and carried water onto drier sections of Spring Valley headed up to Stillwater Road, which was the case on Friday morning. Hardwick officials will continue to work with the County in an effort to manage through this event and to engage in discussions with them to identify a long term solution to prevent future flooding on this section of the County road. lastly, the Municipality has no input to the revised school bus schedule or routings so please contact school officials with questions or suggestions on those issues. Emergency responders (Blairstown and Stillwater Fire Squads, Blairstown Ambulance and State Police) continue to have full access to all sections of town. Again apologies for the inconveniences but Warren County officials made this decision solely based on safety concerns. As stated above, the Committee will continue to work with them to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and to identify and implement a long term solution for this issue.
